Deer Creek Local was built to change that. It's a simple, searchable directory of locally-owned businesses and side hustles connected to the Deer Creek community — free to browse, easy to search, and focused on the people who actually serve Deer Creek families.

Who's behind it

Deer Creek Local is a project of The Wider Lens LLC, a small media company based in the Deer Creek area. The Wider Lens also publishes a free weekly newsletter covering health, wealth, and intentional living.

This directory is a community project, not a big corporation. It was founded by someone who lives here, knows people here, and wants to see local businesses thrive.

How it works

Anyone can search the directory, filter by category, and contact a business — no account needed.
Community-verified listings
Every listing requires an attestation that the business is connected to the Deer Creek community. We review each submission before it goes live.
$20/year for businesses
A listing costs $20 per year — less than a tank of gas. It includes your business name, description, category, contact info, social links, and logo.
Renewals on your schedule
Listings run on a rolling 12-month basis from your sign-up date — not a calendar year. You'll get a reminder before your renewal is due.

Who can get listed

Eligibility is based on community connection, not a zip code. You qualify if your business or side hustle connects to the Deer Creek community through any of the following:

  • You live in the Deer Creek area
  • You are a current or former Deer Creek student or employee
  • You have a family member currently enrolled in or employed by Deer Creek schools
  • Your business primarily or significantly serves Deer Creek families
